Physiotherapy for Women

From bringing new life into the world to performing at the top of your game, women’s bodies are incredible. At different stages and ages, pain or injury can stop you from experiencing your life fully. At INSPIRE, we help build your inner strength, fitness, and health so you can discover your freedom.

From pregnancy pain to preventative pelvic floor exercises, our female physiotherapists specialise in women’s health. During an assessment, we listen and assess your body holistically to discover how we can truly help. Together we’ll set goals - and help you achieve them - with a plan that works for you and your lifestyle.

Help with pain or injury

Are you feeling new pain or has an old injury resurfaced? Our female physiotherapists understand women’s bodies, they’ll assess your pain or injury and formulate a treatment plan that gets you back to you.

Back and neck pain

Back and neck pain is very common, but you don’t have to suffer from it. With focused and holistic physiotherapy, we can treat the source and symptoms of neck pain, middle-back pain, lower back pain, and sciatic pain.

Headaches

Headaches can be caused by neck problems, posture or other issues. We'll look at your whole body to discover the where and why of your pain, then we’ll focus on how we can help you move forward. Treatment plans may include hands on treatment, posture re-education and more.

Arthritis

We’ll help you age gracefully with arthritis treatments that help you to keep active and keep doing what you love. At INSPIRE we treat both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by strengthening your muscle function and taking pressure off your joints.

Joint pain and injury

When your body isn't performing properly, it can put pressure on your joints. Pain in your shoulder, hips, knees and ankles could be caused by poor posture, arthritis, poor muscle control and more. We’ll help you get back to doing more of what you love with a holistic treatment plan focussing on re-strengthening and re-training body and mind.

Dry needling

Our female physiotherapists will find your muscle trigger points and then release them. Dry needling is an effective treatment that's used to reduce pain and restore the function of muscles by releasing myofascial trigger points or "knots" in your muscles.

Kinesio and rock taping

A method used to help you heal, kinesio and rock taping provides support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting your range of movement. Proper taping can also help to improve circulation, reduce swelling and pain.

Muscle pain and injury

If you have strained or stretched muscles, we can help. The cause of muscle pain and injury isn't always apparent. That's why our women's health experts go deep and assess your whole body before they move to a treatment plan.

Move, play and perform better

Get to know your body and how to use it with our sport and performance service. Perfect for active people or sports professionals, our physiotherapists will help treat pain when exercising, prevent injuries and get your body working at it’s best.

Sports injuries

Most acute and chronic injuries don’t have to be lifelong. Our female physiotherapists will assess old or new injuries and create treatment plans to improve your physical and emotional well-being. Our team will help you back to your much-loved sport and personal best as quickly as possible.

Performance program

We know prevention really is the best cure. We’ll help you get more out of your body with a proactive assessment and treatment plan to help you become stronger, healthier, avoid injury and feel great about your body.

A stronger pelvic floor

As experts in women's health, we know pelvic floor issues are common in women of all ages. Receive treatment in our sanctuary, and you'll discover a place where you're supported and encouraged to overcome pelvic floor problems and get back to your lifestyle.

Bladder and bowel

If you suffer from problems with your bladder and bowel, we can help. From pain to frequent urination or if something doesn’t quite feel right, our female physiotherapist can help you regain control and be well.

Incontinence and leaking

Often bladder and bowel incontinence are not openly talked about, and many women suffer from stress or urge incontinence in silence. At INSPIRE, we change that with supportive and effective treatment that can make a big difference in a small amount of time.

Prolapse

Almost 50% of women have a prolapse after bringing new life into the world. You may also suffer prolapse if you push your body beyond it's capabilities or have incorrect weight-lifting technique. If you're feeling symptoms of heaviness or discomfort, our team can assess you for prolapse and help you repair safety.

Pelvic pain

Pelvic floor muscles can carry the strain of your bodies natural processes. If you experience any pelvic pain, our female physiotherapists will assess you physically and emotionally to find the cause of the pain and help you move on from it.

Pain with sex

We’ll help you rediscover your freedom in the bedroom by effectively diagnosing and treating pain or discomfort with sex. Common at any stage of life and sometimes felt after having a baby, our women’s health experts will help you to retrain your pelvic muscles.

Vaginismus

For some women, muscles can involuntarily tense up during any penetration which can stop them from exploring sexuality fully. At INSPIRE, we’ll help you work through the physical and emotional discomfort with a treatment plan that works.

Vulvodynia

Vulval pain or pain in your vagina could be caused by vulvodynia and can be treated by our physiotherapists. Understanding you, the pain you feel, and how it impacts your life will be the first step. Then, we’ll create a tailored treatment plan to help you move forward.

We foster the incredible feeling of personal liberation and joy you get from feeling your best.

Pregnancy and Motherhood

Each pregnancy journey is different. Along with excitement and joy, many women feel pain and discomfort that they weren't prepared for. At INSPIRE, we can help minimise the pain and discomfort during pregnancy while preparing you and your body for the next stage, motherhood.

Back pain and sciatica

Pregnancy and motherhood are the times to nourish, bond and celebrate your body. As your body moves in new ways and deals with different demands, you can suffer back pain and sciatica. We work with women to strengthen the muscles that support the back, minimise pain and offer education on posture and optimal movement.

Pelvic and hip pain

Many women experience pain in their pelvis and hips during pregnancy but don’t realise that pain-reliving treatment during pregnancy can help with a faster recovery after birth. Our physiotherapists treat and manage pelvic and hip pain to help you get on top of it.

Rib pain

As your body changes during pregnancy, you may experience rib pressure, rib pain and pressure through your middle back and spine. Our women’s health experts help you alleviate the pain and find comfort during this stage of pregnancy.

Neck pain and headaches

As your body adjusts to pregnancy and motherhood, you may have headaches and neck pain that stop you from enjoying precious time with your new baby. Focusing on key areas, we can relieve pain with a physiotherapy massage and offer education on prevention.

Carpal tunnel

During pregnancy the fluid levels in your body rise and many women develop carpal tunnel or short-term tingling, numbness, pain or reduced agility in your hands. We use a holistic approach to treatment by looking at your whole body, posture, neck and position of your spine to treat carpal tunnel.

Abdominal muscle separation

It’s common for abdominal muscles to stretch and separate during pregnancy and you may see a doming or coning in the middle of your belly. Luckily women’s bodies are incredibly resilient, but you may need a helping hand from a physiotherapist to heal fully. Our team understand women’s issues and can help you regain abdominal strength and stability.

Pelvic floor

1 in 3 women will have incontinence after having a baby. Giving birth places stress on the pelvic floor, and some women experience issues in their bladder and bowel, feelings of heaviness, pain with sex and prolapse. As women's health experts, we can use physiotherapy to help you along your healing and motherhood journey. We recommend early intervention for the best results.

Mastitis and blocked ducts

Using a therapeutic ultrasound, we can treat pain and milk-supply issues to help you continue breastfeeding. If you’re suffering from mastitis and blocked ducts, the sooner we see you, the faster you’re likely to recover.

TENS in labour

TENS is a drug-free pain relief option that uses electrical stimulation during labour. It's a small hand-held device, that's easy to use and gives you the freedom to stay active while your body is preparing to give birth.

Nutrition during pregnancy and motherhood

Ensuring you have a healthy pregnancy and quick post-birth recovery for mum and bub is important to us. We have a selection of practitioner recommended supplements and products, talk to your physiotherapist for more.

Vibrancy at any age

We believe that you can feel youthful vibrancy at all stages of your life. We work with women to increase their energy, mobility and ability to live the way they want at any age.

Osteopenia

Early treatment can help to prevent and treat osteopenia by building and repairing low bone density. We’ll work with you to create an exercise plan that you can enjoy at home or at our studio sanctuary.

Osteoporosis

We work closely with women and treat osteoporosis physically and emotionally. We’ll give you the tools and methods you need to manage osteoporosis, build bone density, reduce rate of bone density loss, reduce risks of falls, minimise pain and keep living your life.

Menopause

As your body goes through this change you might feel as though it's falling apart. Luckily, we're here to help. Regain your body, strength, energy and get back to you after or during menopause. As women’s health experts, we can help improve pelvic floor function, bone strength and emotional wellbeing during this natural cycle.

Lymphoedema

We can help to reduce swelling and improve mobility with gentle physiotherapy for women suffering from post-injury or post-surgery swelling known as Lymphoedema.

Faster recovery post-surgery and injury

We treat lymphoedema holistically with education, gentle exercise, compression and specialised lymphatic massage to assist the lymphatic system. These treatments can improve your quality of life and reduce pain after an injury or surgery.

We strongly believe in the interconnectedness of the whole body.
